  Making His Mark
A man from the state of Chu was taking a boat across a river when he dropped his sword into the water carelessly. Immediately he made a mark on the side of the boat where the sword dropped, hoping to find it later. When the boat stopped moving, he went into the water to search for his sword at the place where he had marked the boat. As we know, the boat had moved but the sword had not. Isnt this a very foolish way to look for a sword?

A mouse once took a bite out of a bull's tail as he lay dozing。 The bull jumped up in a rage and, with his head low to the ground, chased the mouse right across the yard。 The mouse was too quick for him, however, and slipped easily into a hole in the wall。
The bull charged the wall furiously again and again, but although he bruised his head and chipped his horns, the mouse stayed safely inside his hole。 After a time the bull gave up and sank down to rest again。
As soon as the bull was asleep, the little mouse crept to the mouth of the hole, pattered across the yard, bit the bull again -- this time on the nose -- and rushed back to safety。 As the bull roared helplessly the mouse squeaked:
"It's not always the big people who e off best。 Sometimes the small ones win, you know。"

Long ago, there were four blind people. They wanted to know what elephants looked like. Because of the blindness, they could only touch the elephant.
The fat blind person touched the elephant’s ivory first. He said: “ Oh, I see! The elephant is big, thick and smooth, just like the carrots.”
The tall blind person touched the elephant’s ear and yelled: “ No, no, no. The elephant is a big fan!”
The short blind person touched the elephant’s leg. He said: “ You are all wrong! The elephant is a pillar.”
The old blind person said: “ The elephant is not that big. It’s just like a rope.” He was touching the elephant’s tail.
The four blind people were arguing endlessly. Each of them said he himself was right. We all know that none of them is right.
We should look at the whole picture instead of only seeing part of it. Only in that way can we fully and truly understand the situation of things.

The Wise Old Man and the RiverOnce upon a time, there was a wise old man who lived in a small village by the river. One day, a young man came to him and said, "Old man, I want to be wise like you. Can you teach me your secrets?"The wise old man looked at him and said, "Sure, but first, let's take a walk by the river."They walked in silence for a while until they came to the river. The wise old man suddenly pushed the young man into the river and held him under the water.
The young man struggled and fought to get free, but the old man held him firmly. Just when he was about to pass out, the old man pulled him out of the river and helped him catch his breath. The young man was furious and demanded an explanation. The old man calmly replied, "When you were under the water, what did you want more than anything else?"
"I wanted to breathe!" the young man gasped. The old man nodded and said, "That's the secret to wisdom. When you want to be wise as much as you wanted to breathe, then you will be."The young man was humbled and realized that wisdom was not something that could be learned overnight, but a lifelong pursuit.
Moral of the story: Wisdom cannot be taught, but it can be pursued. It takes patience, perseverance, and a deep desire to learn

1 Feeling in Snow
As soon as I walked outside, I was greeted with the shimmering white blanket of cold. Despite the chill overwhelming my skin, inside I was warm. I felt as though I could be giving off heat; I had the desire to stay out in this freeze for hours. It was the type of day that speaks to you through its elements; I took a deep breath to hear more snow was coming.
As I walked I looked up, trying to realize what made this day so beautiful, so serene. It was as if time had been put temporarily on hold and I along with it. Or maybe I was the only one unpaused…Either way, the solitude was comforting, and I sensed myself floating away. I sat down on the edge of a curb and listened. All there was to hear was the wind rushing over the top of my head and circling some old, cracking leaves some yards away. To me it was the reassuring sound of nature, trying not to be forgotten.
It did start to snow. None of those little flurries, but big, fat flakes which clung immediately to their surface.
Then it was time to go and my reverie had to end. As I began walking again, I drifted back into this time frame, calm and cleared.
Now if only I could remember where I was going.

Consider… YOU. In all time before now and in all time to come, there has never been and will never be anyone just like you. You are unique in the entire history and future of the universe. Wow! Stop and think about that. You're better than one in a million, or a billion, or a gazillion…
You are the only one like you in a sea of infinity!
You're amazing! You're awesome! And by the way, TAG, you're it. As amazing and awesome as you already are, you can be even more so. Beautiful young people are the whimsey of nature, but beautiful old people are true works of art. But you don't become "beautiful" just by virtue of the aging process.
Real beauty comes from learning, growing, and loving in the ways of life. That is the Art of Life. You can learn slowly, and sometimes painfully, by just waiting for life to happen to you. Or you can choose to accelerate your growth and intentionally devour life and all it offers. You are the artist that paints your future with the brush of today.
  Paint a Masterpiece.
God gives every bird its food, but he doesn't throw it into its nest. Wherever you want to go, whatever you want to do, it's truly up to you.

Joy in living comes from having fine emotions, trusting them, giving them the freedom of a bird in the open. Joy in living can never be assumed as a pose, or put on from the outside as a mask. People who have this joy don not need to talk about it; they radiate it. They just live out their joy and let it splash its sunlight and glow into other lives as naturally as bird sings.
We can never get it by working for it directly. It comes, like happiness, to those who are aiming at something higher. It is a byproduct of great, simple living. The joy of living comes from what we put into living, not from what we seek to get from it.

"You must prove you're the best," the manager said.
"I'll pass every test you give me." Harry told him.
"Good."
The manager took a box of candy out of his desk .
"Last week, I bought a thousand boxes of this candy. If you can sell them all before the end of the week, you can have the job.
"That's easy," Harry said.
He took the box of candy and left the office.
Every day and all day, he went from shop to shop, trying to sell boxes of the candy .
He couldn't sell one.
The candy was so bad he couldn't even give it away.
At the end of the week he went back to the manager.
"I'm sorry, sir, " he said," I was wrong about myself . I'm not the best salesman in the world, but I know who is.
"Oh," said the manager. "Who?"
"The person who sold you a thousand boxes of this candy, " Harry said.

So now,"thinks prodigal,"my fur is useless quite. Why wrap oneself in furs?
It is now the first spring breezes. To Nature's waking realm bring everything that pleases, andto the silent North the banished Frost takes wing."

Mohist answered, "The grog and hop1 toad2 never stop shouting from day to night, but they get little from people. The rooster only sings only for a few minutes in the morning and wakes up all the people. So, it is not necessarily advisable to speak a lot."
It doesn't matte how much you say, what matters is whether you can hit the nail on the head.
